8:37pm est

Those 3 numbers are all I've been thinking about this week. How can I be expected to work when 8:37pm is right around the corner? The culmination of an incredible 5-year soap opera starring one of college sports' most storied athletic programs. The sub-plots couldn't be scripted any better. The much heralded trifecta of juniors who have been through what they never imagined they'd have to endure in Chapel Hill. Good ol' Roy coming home to bring the team back to the promise land, but standing firmly on the precipice of perhaps being labeled "the best coach to never have won the big one". McCants' mother's dire health. Former UNC Assistant Coach Wojcik now happily sitting on the Michigan State bench. There are many other heartwarming stories. Some might say that it's just media hype/filler for the week leading up to the games and that is all doesn't matter. They're wrong. Dead wrong. For 2 hours tomorrow evening, it will all matter. The adversity and drama have made the team that much stronger and given them that much more drive with which to go out and show the world that they have not - contrary to popular belief - taken their overwhelming talents for granted this season. Regardless of what happens at 8:37pm, the Heels are having fun again. The glory days are back on Franklin Street.
