Links o' the Day

This "Free Lindsay" site just says it all. Oh, the horror!
You know I'm a slut for racist humor. Not sure if this is taking it too far, but who's watchin?
This device (Slingbox) sounds like it might be too good to be true. Mossberg reviewed it in this week's WSJ and it's being released at Best Buy this weekend. $250 flat fee. No monthly fees. It redirects, or “placeshifts,” the TV signal from your cable box, satellite receiver, or digital video recorder (TiVo) to your computer or laptop of choice, no matter your location — so long as you have a high-speed Internet connection. So, you're sitting in your office on some brutal conference call and want to watch the Yankees game ... fire up the laptop and it will pick up your home TV signal. Ultimately, I think, you will also be able to stream your MP3s (the ones that are being played through your TiVo) to your work or vacation place or wherever you are. Endless possibilities. The Slingbox is taking DVR technology a few extra steps and now appears to be the "killer app" for how people interact with the boob toob.
